SOAP #9 - Love

Scripture - 1 Corinthians 13 (The Message & The Amplified Bible)

8 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit.9 We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete.10 But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled. [AMP 10  But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).] 11 When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.12 We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! 13 But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
Observations - Well this is more along the lines of what I needed tonight.   We don't know God's whole truth & plan.  It isn't for us to know.
Application - All we can do is trust in God, hope in all things, & love extravagantly.  I love that adjective.  Extravagantly.  With everything you have.  Give your whole heart.   We can find a way to learn from this & love our neighbors, no matter what they believe.
Prayer - I pray tonight for our whole town for healing.  There was a life lost.  Only You, God, know what truly happened.  I pray that Your love would cover this town.  Drive Satan from our midst & let us come together to move forward. Amen.
